During the same year The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) was formed. The Swedish Armed Forces made its transport plans Globemaster available for MSB's relief efforts during the 2010 Haiti earthquake, which started from Örebro. Media was in place and documented the operation.
The airplane landed in the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores in the Atlantic due to crew rest. On board were 20 auxiliary workers, 14 from MSB. Both Danish, Finnish and Norwegian personnel were on board. The second MSB aircraft departed from Örebro at noon on Sunday. In the passenger plane, there were 56 relief workers, for MSB personnel as well as UN staff as well as personal from the Red Cross and MSF who contributed two anesthetists, a surgeon, a psychologist, two logistics and three nurses.
